About Dare to 'Re-Treat'

Honouring the wisdom of women who came before.

The Heart Behind Dare to 'Re-Treat'

Both of these incredible women—my grandmother and my mother—shaped who I am.

They were strong in such different ways, but they shared a common thread: resilience through sacrifice, strength through softness, and love that gave endlessly. They each taught me powerful lessons about self-worth, boundaries, and the quiet courage it takes to put yourself first in a world that often expects otherwise.

In their honour, I’ve poured myself into finalizing a vision that had long lived in my heart. While Dare to Heal represents my professional foundation and the Dare to Share Your Untold Story podcast that aims to break down the barriers of mental stigma and invite in the concept of mental beauty, Dare to ‘Re-Treat’ is the embodiment of my personal mission—fueled by the wisdom, sacrifices, and stories of the women who came before me.

I had the chance to share this dream with both my Grandma and Mom while they were still physically present. They knew what I was building. I never expected to lose them so suddenly—both in the early seasons of 2025. But their legacy didn’t just inspire this work; it now anchors it. Their words, their support, their lived experiences—it’s all infused in the soul of this movement.

My grandmother always told me:

“No one will understand your pain the way you do, so take care of yourself anyway—and never feel guilty for saying no.”

And my mother, through her quiet sacrifice, showed me what happens when we don’t.

From Personal Story to Professional Calling

Years of clinical practice revealed what I couldn’t ignore: burnout, self-abandonment, and emotional suppression are silently eroding the well-being of people who appear “fine” on the outside—especially high-performing professionals.
I witnessed clients who gave endlessly to their teams, patients, students, families—yet struggled to give to themselves. I saw how deeply hustle culture had penetrated our collective belief systems, glorifying productivity at the expense of presence. And I knew something had to change.

Dare to ‘Re-Treat’ was born out of a desire to:
  • Challenge the normalization of burnout in healthcare, education, and corporate spaces
  • Offer spaces where people can reconnect with themselves without guilt or performance
  • Disrupt the myth that self-care is indulgent when in fact, it is essential

I couldn’t find the kind of experience I was looking for—one that merged clinical depth, emotional safety, cultural understanding, and elevated care.
So I created it.

What We Stand For

Dare to ‘Re-Treat’ is not just an event—it’s a return to self, a collective recalibration, and a conscious rejection of the noise that tells us to keep pushing no matter the cost.

Our Mission

To redefine the way we engage with self-care—by making it sustainable, intentional, and rooted in both emotional and cultural truth.

Our Vision

A world where thriving replaces surviving, where self-worth isn’t earned through exhaustion, and where taking care of yourself becomes the new standard of leadership.

Our Values

Meet the Founder

Salima Jadavji, MSW, RSW, C. Hyp™

Social Worker & Psychotherapist. Clinical Hypnotherapist. Speaker. Podcast Host(ess). Founder of Dare to ‘Re-Treat’ and Dare to Heal.

As a trauma-informed psychotherapist and wellness educator with over 20 years of experience, I’ve spent my career supporting individuals—especially professionals in high-pressure roles—through burnout, emotional pain, grief, perfectionism, and disconnection from self.

My work weaves together evidence-based modalities with cultural understanding and heart-centred guidance. I believe in creating brave, affirming spaces where people can unlearn the patterns that no longer serve them and reimagine what it means to truly care for themselves.
I’m not just teaching this—I’m living it.

This movement was born from both my own healing and a deep knowing that we need more than bubble baths and to-do lists to thrive.

The true art of self-care is essential for moving forward in all aspects of life—personally, professionally, and spiritually.
